Art I come across often seems sterile to me, so in my paintings I create pieces the viewer wants to touch and get involved in. Texture and terrain are important elements for me in a painting - for the experience of touch and the way light interacts with the painting surface. I rarely use a paint brush, more often employing found objects and cultural artifacts to push paint, distort the surface texture, and even create color effects. My expressionist style and technique is largely based on a process of constant experimentation and exploration. For me, painting and creating art is largely about the journey and not the final destination or completion of pieces.
